April 6 - Little Orphan Annie debuts on radio (Blue Network of NBC).
May 1 - The first wedding is broadcast on television, on New York Citys W2XCR.
July 21 - CBSs New York station begins broadcasting the first regular seven days a week television schedule in the U.S. The first broadcast included Mayor James J. Walker, Kate Smith, and George Gershwin.
October 30 - NBC installs a television transmitter on top of the Empire State Building
November 1 - Television images are transmitted from JOAK radio station in Tokyo, Japan by Professors Kenjiro Takayagani and Tomomasa Nakashima. The images comprise 80 lines at 20 frames per second.
December 22 - NBC begins broadcasting from the Empire State Building transmitter
December 23 - Don Lee Broadcasting signs on W6XAO (later KTSL) from Los Angeles with electronic television. Don Lee should be considered as the worlds first electronic television service.
Canadas first television station, VE9EC, begins broadcasting in Montreal, Quebec
