Managing the Terroristic Threat | 01 -04 April
2002
 | Description: In
February 2000, Industrial Fire World magazine hosted
“Managing the Terroristic Threat,” a conference and
exposition on emergency response to terrorism. The
tragedy on American soil that those attending most
dreaded is now reality. In response, IFW is revamping
its 17th annual Industrial Fire World Conference &
Exposition, April 1-4, 2002, in Houston, TX., to make
possible a second “Managing the Terroristic Threat.”
Three days of the four-day conference schedule will be
dedicated to studying the emergency response to the
September 11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center
and the Pentagon, to better prepare for incidents on
this scale in the future. Presentations and workshop
sessions will directly address issues such as incident
command, utilization of resources, tools, techniques,
technology, training, mutual aid, communications,
pre-planning, inter-agency cooperation, protecting
criminal evidence and chemical/biological warfare,
including mass decontamination. Experts in these
fields will preside, including those with first-hand
knowledge of the September 11 emergency response.
