Program Concept

The United States Congress has directed that certain kinds of chemical weapons stockpiled at eight U.S. Army installations in the continental United States must be destroyed over the next several years. In eight designated communities, emergency plans and capabilities are being expanded for the slight but real threat of an emergency involving chemical agents. Overall, this effort is called the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program or CSEPP.
