When I was a
little kid I never had a pet
And I swore that someday I would have as many as
I could get
So I bought a little goldfish and named him
buttercup
He swims around his bowl all day but does it
belly up
I have a blue canary the sweetest little bird
She surely has a lovely voice but never sings a
word
And I got myself a tabby cat who shows her love
and care
By leaving little bits of rat upon my favorite
chair
I also have a yellow hound who loves me like a
pup
By putting down those things he's found are too
hard to chew up
And I got a pretty rabbit to help with what I
grew
She'll fertilize the vegetables but then she eats
them, too
I have a pig live with me he keeps things clean
and such
By eating all my garbage then making twice as
much
I also have a dairy cow whose heart is soft as
silk
She never gives me trouble and she never gives me
milk
And then there is my quarter horse who shows me
such respect
That for all the times he falls on me he never
broke my neck
I even have a hippo who likes to take a nap
And just to keep me company he curls up in my lap
I got myself a polar bear who's really very nice
As long as I can keep my house completely filled
with ice
I have a great big python who stays beneath the
rug
Except when she gets lonely and gives me such a
hug
I got myself an octopus who never would do harm
He likes to go on walks with me, so we go arm in
arm in arm in arm in arm in arm in arm in arm
I even got a shark today. They say she's a great
white
And if you'd like to meet her, come over for a
bite
I have a fine gorilla, at friendship he's the
best
He lets me cuddle up with him, and then he beats
his chest
I even got a dinosaur I found at the museum
And if it weren't for all those bones I think
you'd hardly see him
I got myself a little clam, but wish that she was
louder
Because I never heard her yell when she fell into
my chowder
Each time I go to bed at night my 'gator crawls
beneath
You should see him smile when I go to floss his
teeth
I have a pet chameleon that started out quite
green
Then she changed her colors and she's nowhere to
be seen
I got an eel the other day. He sleeps inside my
sock
Every day, when I get dressed, it comes as quite
a shock
A kangaroo lives in my room. I showed her how to
lock it
It's too bad that she lost the key. It's
somewhere in her pocket
I also have an earwig who sleeps with me in bed
And I suppose she always will until she leaves my
head
Now I am a grownup with pets that fill my house
I've got a pen for every pig, a cage for every
mouse
A tank for every turtle and a den for every fox
And the pet I'd like the most is one who'll clean
the litter box |
