The Attentive Ear and the Arm of Friendship.    Start the New Year Right  !!!  Every Sunday Morning an Indianapolis Area Masonic Lodge sends a delegation to this VA Hospital.  Members visit the wards to encourage church attendance and to provide wheel chair escort service.  But the greater service is in spending a few moments visiting with patients; be it in their rooms, in the hallways or in the Chapel.  The gift of listening and consoling is one which enriches both the donor and recipient.  Share that enrichment with your whole family by bringing them along to church this Sunday.  Sure, they can help you visit the wards too. "To Soothe the unhappy, to compassionate their miseries and restore peace to their troubled minds is the Grand Aim which we have in View."  -- Take out your Indiana Masonic Monitor and see if you can find where that Lesson is taught in the Lectures or the Degrees.!!!    Monday January 3rd - 7:00 PM  Stated Business Meeting Snacks Provided.    Scholarship Forms:  Indiana Grand Lodge College Scholarship application forms will be sent to Lodge Secretarys January 15th.  Children & Grandchildren and Stepchildren of Master Mason members of Indiana Masonic Lodges who will attend a University in Indiana may apply through the sponsoring member's lodge.  Inform secretary if you need forms.  Start gathering transcripts now.  Masonic License Plates:   Masonic Vanity Plates cost $22.00  --  $10.00 to the Masons, then $12.00 to the State.  Many other organizations charge double that amount.  Obtain Application forms for new plates from the Secretary (me); at Lodge from the literature rack, or from the Indiana Freemason Newspaper.  Submit applications to Grand Lodge with $10.00 for membership certification..  Submit the "certified" application to your Indiana License Branch when you buy plates.  Separate form required for each plate.  ---  Display your Indiana Masonic License Plate proudly.  Look for them when traveling -- specially if you see them on a disabled auto. The Lodge E-Mail List is growing rapidly.  Look at the List of Addressess for new additions..  The "CC" recipients are members who live outside of Indiana and regular visitors to Landmarks Lodge.
