'One Game, One Community' –
Bolton Wanderers Supports the Week Of Action Against Racism in Football
The annual 'Kick It Out' Week of Action sees the biggest names in the professional game stand alongside communities across the UK under the banner - 'One Game, One Community' for an extended week of activities challenging racism (17-30 October).
In keeping with its pledge to tackle racism in all its forms and to ensure that the Reebok Stadium is a welcoming place for all supporters and players regardless of skin colour, ethnic origin or culture, Bolton Wanderers is again supporting the Week of Action through a number of activities in recognition of the capacity of football to dispel ignorance and to challenge prejudice.
Sam Allardyce says “Racism has no part in today’s game. It is really disturbing when you hear racist chants being aimed at players. No fan should ever use racist language either in a football stadium or in the wider world. We all have our part to play in promoting greater understanding and tolerance.”
Bolton Wanderers has a zero tolerance policy on fans using racially abusive language. Offenders will be removed from the ground, handed over to the Police and charged. Perpetrators may be banned from the Reebok and have their season tickets confiscated.
For the third season, members of Bolton Against Racism will be working with the club to get this important message across, with a stall outside the club shop giving out posters, magazines and badges.
