If Thou Art Troubled, Thou Canst Leave"

When my husband's Aunt May saw this she said it reminded her of a story in one of her early readers:  An Arab was out on the desert with his camel.  He saw a sand storm coming, so he made the camel lie down and then erected his tent so he could be out of the flying sand and the harsh wind.  During the night, the camel stuck his nose under the flap of the tent and said "Oh Master, I can hardly breathe with all of this sand and wind.  May I keep my nose inside the tent so I can breathe?"

The Arab was a kindly person and allowed the camel to put his nose in the tent.  Later in the night, the Arab awakened to find that he was being crushed by the camel.  He kicked the camel and tried to make himself comfortable.  After a while the camel said "Oh Master, If thou art troubled, thou canst leave:.

That story is the source of the title of this painting.
A mother and baby camel were talking one day when the baby camel asked  "Mom, why do I have these huge two toed feet?"
The mother replied, "Well son, when we trek across the desert your toes will help you to stay on top of the soft sand.,"
"OK," said the son.  A few minutes later the son asked "Mom, why have I got these great long eyelashes?"
"They are there to keep the sand out of your eyes on the trips throught the desert," replied the mother.
"Thanks Mom," replied the son.  After a short while, the son returns and asked, "Mom, why have I got these great big humps on my back?"
The mother, now a little impatient with the young camel replied "They are there to help us store water for our long treks across the desert, so we can go without drinking for long periods."
"That's great, Mom.  So we have huge feet to keep us from sinking in the sand, and great long eyelashes to keep the sand out of our eyes, and these humps to store water.   But MoM..."
     "Yes, son?" inquired the mother.
"Why the heck are we in the San Diego zoo?"
