The Fire Safety House allows children to be educated about home safety proceedures and how to escape from an upstairs bedroom in the event of a fire. Assistant Chief Dan LaRocco brings the trailer, sponsored by the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children and Northeastern Ohio Fire Chief's Association, to all third graders in Berea every October. The trailer is setup like a miniature "house" inside, with a kitchen, living room and upstairs bedroom. Fire safety lessons in each room are taught by Assistant Chief LaRocco and various members of the Fire Department.
