Open "FIRE" House

The Berea Fire Department holds an annual open house immediately following the annual Memorial Day Parade. The public is invited to tour the fire station and learn about our apparatus, equipment and firefighting/emergency medical services provided by the Berea Fire Department.

Walking around Berea Aerial Tower 3, a 110 foot Sutphen aerial tower. Pumping capacity is 1500 gallons per minute. The truck was purchased new in 1987.

All compartments are opened so the public can see the type of equipment carried on the trucks. Firefighters are available to demonstrate and explain each piece of equipment. The truck on the left is our 1994 Sutphen 1500 gallon per minute pumper. The truck on the right is our 1979 Mack 1500 gallon per minute pumper, which will be replaced in 2004.

Berea Firefighters Local 1836 and the Berea Giant Eagle Supermarket provided hotdogs, chips and pop. Over 200 hotdogs were cooked and served.
