Week of November 4th

After an examination, it showed that Baby D's head is engaged and pressing up against my cervix and because I am already 4-5cm. dilated, it was decided to insert a cervical support called a pessary. Because of ongoing bleeding, once again I was given a blood transfusion on Monday.  Tuesday morning, I developed a urinary tract infection which prompted heavy contractions in the afternoon.  Once again, by increasing my magnesium and my terbutaline medications along with antibotics for the infection, the contractions slowed down.  After an examination on Thursday, it showed that I was definitely 5cm. dilated.  At this point, the babies continue to look great on ultrasound.  Each day their heart beats are monitored and twice a week they are measured for not only their heart beats, they are also measured for their breathing and amniotic fluid.  I am due for an ultrasound that measures the babies growth next week, which we are looking forward to.
