PEACE at CHRISTMAS

To truly experience the peace,

begin by finding the joy.

What is that element

of Christmas

that brings joy to you?

What is that moment that

causes you to rejoyce,

to feel so much pleasure

and happiness that

your heart sings?

Imagine the jingling sound of sleigh bells;

the sweet music of carols.

Remember the scent of cookies baking,

of candles, of pine tree, of eggnog?

Picture the lights, the decorations,

the children with Santa, the manger scene.

Christmas is so much work for so many of us that the moment of joy often comes when we realize that we are finally all done!! Our mission is completed and we can take a moment to listen to the silence, look for traces of falling snow or twinkling stars, sit and gaze at some special decorations and reflect that we are indeed blessed.

The song says,

"Let there be peace on earth

and let it begin with me."

Now think.

You can't radiate peace if you are wondering about what others may be radiating!

Focus on your own inner self.

What the song means is to create

your own little island of peace by

appreciating what's really important.

Then, whenever your little aura encounters another

little aura of peace you get a little glow.

The more the brighter.

This is how I see it.

We can only change ourselves,

and you can't get true feelings of tranquility going

if you are worrying about what's going on

in other people's heads.

Just as a thousand mile journey begins with the first step,

peace on earth begins with one person at a time.

Find the JOY and hold on to it.

Let it fill you with hope for mankind.
