Corniel and Sgts. Herrera and Yoshihara were retired from the unit and
will be reverting to Pvt.'s this summer as they have joined the Marine
Corps and will be leaving for Boot Camp soon after graduation. So
will former Chosan Young Marine Sgt. DeLaCruz. L/Cpl Gomez was retired
also and will be going on to collage. See Event.

Our
Color Guard performed at the Long Beach Sprint Boat races and did an
outstanding job. The man in charge even called the Regimental CO
with complements. Well done Color Guard.

Young Marines, 5 Staff members and 1 parent went on a short hike up Bear
Creek, off the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. It was a fun
event for most of the Young Marines who got a touch of the wilderness for
the first time.

Former Chosan Young Marine S/Sgt. Lee will be
graduating from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis this
summer. He is going for the Marine Corps option. Let us all
hope he makes it and comes back to visit us as a Marine 2nd
Lieutenant.
