They also create a safety buffer of sorts if there should be any technical or performer-related difficulties which may potentially alter the smooth flow of an event by providing continuous “filler” until said issue is rectified. Lastly, the host inevitably acts as an almost secondary stage manager by ensuring the other performers (should there be any) presence on stage, easing the workload of the coordinator to a degree.
