Cabins - Our cabins provide an authentic Alaskan experience amid the rustic wilderness of Kenai's pristine forests.  The are set up for light housekeeping.  They sleep 4 persons comfortably.  We also have a larger cabin set up as a "duplex" which sleeps 6 persons in each unit.  There is electricity; however, no running water or indoor toilet facilities are currently available.  Water is obtained from a hand pump near the Ranger's cabin located at Alaska's Funny River Recreation Area adjacent to Fish Camp.  Toilet facilities consist of outhouses with another available on the Recreation Area property.  Showers, laundry facilities, public telephones, groceries, fishing tackle and licenses are available at Isom's Cafe and Isom Brother's General Store located within 1/4 mile of Funny River Fish Camp.

Bank fishing is as near as your doorstep in addition to the "fishin' hole" at the mouth of the Funny River.

Gear - Funny River Fish Camp wishes to make every guests stay a pleasurable and memorable experience.  In providing an authentic Alaskan experience, we feel that it is important for our guests to keep a few things in mind for advanced preparation.

What to bring:  Sleeping bags, cameras, raingear, hip boots/waders, wash cloths and towels, groceries and enthusiasm.  (Reels should be spooled with 30 lb. test line.  While a Sockeye may not exceed 12 lbs., he fights with such ferocity that disbelievers will soon find themselves re-spooling with heavier line if they do not heed our advice.)

Many of our guests come from warmer climates around the world.  This being the case, we suggest that our guests bring sufficient cool weather clothing.  Temperatures during the summer on the Kenai Peninsula can be quite warm (ranging from the mid to high 70's and into the 80's on occasion), yet those temperatures may cool drastically when fishing on the Kenai River.  It's easy to take off warm clothing when it gets too warm, but difficult to bundle up in warm clothing you may have neglected to bring along.
