The epidural was great for a few hours, then it stopped my labor completely. I never felt the urge to push, I just felt totally miserable because they turned the epidural off and started pitocin in an effort to get things going again. It didn't work well, and so they started trying to suction him out. This didn't work well either, and I was in second stage labor for 2 1/2 hours.
