1. Elizabeth "Zibbie" Gardner, daughter of Abraham & Mary (Ransom) Gardner, who lived in Danby, Tompkins Co., NY
Libbie was born March, 1809, died about 1902, she died at the Teeter Farm on the Enfield Road, Tompkins Co., NY - date unknown.
She lived nearly 100 years, she was a dressmaker, and out lived her second husband by fifty years.

1st David Scott born 1805 - 1836
2nd Nehemiah Griffin. born 1810 -1852
Zibbie married Nehemiah Griffin at Danby, NY, May 1840, by Chas. C. Howell - Justice of the Peace.
Nehemiah died at Candor, NY.

Zibbie, David and Nehemiah are buried Adams Settlement Cemetery, Danby, NY, a headstone next to Nehemiah Griffin and David Scott has rotted away, this could be that of Elizabeth "Zibbie" Gardner their wife, it is stated in a Gardner Family History that she is buried here but her headstone is not found.
Inscriptions are as follows:
Nehemiah GRIFFIN died July 1, 1852 aged 43 years - appears to be 4 months 15 days
David SCOTT, died April 7, 1836 aged 31 years - "Friends nor physicians could not save, This mortal body from the grave"
Children by David Scott were; Abraham G.,  Lydia, Susanna
Children by Nehemiah Griffin were: MaryWilliam H., Nehemiah W.

Abraham is listed on most records as Abram G. Scott, or A. G. Scott, he was born 1828, on census records he is listed as farmer, and cooper. He lived on Brearley Hill Road in Caroline, Tompkins County, NY.
married 1854 to Martha Ann Brearley, daughter of Joseph & Catharine Brearley,
Martha Brearley was  born abt. 1830 died Jan. 31, 1864 age 31 years, 1 mo., she is buried on her parents homestead on Brearley Hill Road.  More information on the Brearley's

Per 1892 Caroline census records a Erroy W. Scott age 7 (born abt. 1885 was living with
Abram & Martha Scott, not listed as son in the Gardner family records,
unknown if he was another child or not)

married  October 14, 1852 to Joseph Henry Brearley, also known as "Harry", born April 6, 1823 died July 30, 1876 in Candor, Tioga Co., NY.   He was the son of Joseph & Catherine (Cheeseman) Brearley, of Brearley Hill, Town of Caroline, Tompkins Co., NY
Their children found were; Mary born abt. 1853; Isabelle born abt. 1853, Charles born abt. 1855; Septill (male) born about 1857, and Matilda.

Information in Pension File of Wm. H. Griffin, son of Libbie Gardner, Civil War Pension Application #49839 - Certificate # 34647
Company K 137th N.Y. Infantry.
On the original pension application dated 9 April 1864 Libbie Griffin stated that she was 55 years of age and a resident of Caroline, NY.  Libbie Gardner Scott married Nehemiah Griffin at Danby, Tompkins Co., NY May 1840.  The ceremony was performed by Chas. C. Howell, Justice of the Peace.  Nehemiah Griffin died at Candor, NY on July 1, 1852.  There is sworn testimony to all facts - signed by Abram G. Scott and William Sullivan.  Libbie gave her post office address as Wilseyville, Tioga Co., NY.
William H. Griffin was enrolled on August 22, 1862 at Danby, NY. to serve for three years in Company K 137th N. Y. Infantry.  He was mustered in at Binghamton, NY, on August 27, 1862.
In a deposition made by the commanding offficer William Griffin was wounded in battle at Wauhatchie on October 29, 1863 and died at Chattanooga, Tenn. Nov. 11, 1863.  He was giving his mother money each month towards her support and that was the amount of the pension she received presumably until her death.

Married Louisa A. VanEtten, daughter of George W. & Harriet (Roe) VanEtten, born 1850 died 1906, they had the following children:

Lived in Candor, Tioga Co., NY.  Is said to be buried in Candor Cemetery.
