Spirituality
Spirituality is the foundation of our inner-most selves. It is important to us whether we are aware of it or not. It is there, it is real, and it is at once very personal and very universal. My own beliefs fall between the Catholicism I was brought up with, and the paganism I have always had deep within me. Granted, I lean more toward the paganism these days. For some excellent resources on the web, I recommend The Pagan´s Path faq which provides an excellent description of the basics of paganism. For a Christian/pagan blend, Creation Spirituality, an ecumenical, mystical movement started by Matthew Fox during the 80's reconnects Christianity with earth spirituality. Here is an interesting site about eco-spirituality, providing much needed discussion on the important link between ecology and spirituality. Also providing a strong link between ecology, activism and spirituality is Starhawk´s site. |
