My Darling Judy
Julia Schneider Left Us On 9-13-03 Much Too Soon
My Darling Judy
She was my one and only true love. We met 50 years ago, back in 1953 at something called The Junior Roller Derby in New York City. Those of you reading this, who are our age, will remember The Roller Derby. It was an exciting  team roller skating sport back in the 50's and 60's. The Junior Roller Derby could be compared to something like Minor League Baseball but without pay. It was a stepping stone to becoming a Professional Roller Derby Skater, a big thing to us Junior Roller Derby Skaters back then. Judy was actually called up be The Jersey Jolters in 1954 and skated for part of the season with them. At the end of the 1954 season The Derby went to Hawaii but Judy decided to stay in New York. We were a couple by then, having gotten together sometime between June and December 1953. She chose to give up her Professional Roller Derby career, something she worked so hard to achieve, to stay with her family and sweetheart, who I am pleased to say was me. I was then, and still am, the luckiest man alive that this lovely person chose me to love. We were married on May 19, 1957 after I completed my military obligation. We became soulmates, became one person,  that no one or anything, even death could separate. The line in our wedding vows," Till Death Us Do Part." did not apply in our case. She is gone, but we are still together, just one person, and will remain that way for all eternity.

Who Was Julia ?
First and foremost, she was, and still is, the sweetest, most beautiful, tender and understanding person I could have ever expected to meet. Just to think that she chose me to spend her life with humbles me to a degree that cannot be described. The amount of happiness and pleasure I achieved with this woman was more than anyone had a right to expect during their lifetime. She was and always will be my soulmate, my wife, my best friend, my lover, the mother of our three beautiful children, Susan, Larry and Amy. " Nanny " to our five precious grandchildren, Stephanie, Anthony, Carlo, Larry and Nicholas, not to forget a great step-grandson, Kevin. She was a loving sister to Rita and Adele. A devoted daughter to Michael and Elvera. A niece to Matthew and Connie, Mary and Jim, Anthony and Josie, Sam and Mary. Rose and Andrew, Helen and Bill and Emily. A sister-in-law to Maxine and Simon. An Aunt to Michael F. and Cathy, Vincent and Linda, Robert, Michael T. and Shari, Richard and Laura, Adam and Gina, Mark, Neal and Carl. She was loved by everyone. I doubt if there are such things, but if there are, she would be best described as having been an " Angel " here on earth. I love you Judy with my entire being and always will for all eternity.
Special Memories
After spending a lifetime with a person there are so many special memories. To try and determine the most special is very difficult. One has to be our first kiss in the doorway of her and her parents apartment on 217th. Street in The Bronx, New York back in 1953. Certainly our wedding day on May 19, 1957. The births of our wonderful children, Susan March 1, 1958, Larry September 24, 1959 and Amy on July 25, 1964. How proud she was when I was appointed to The Suffolk County Police Department in 1964. Seeing her with all of our grandchildren around her. Probably my most special memory, that I will never ever forget,  was our last kiss goodnight on September 12, 2003 when she said to me, " I am not afraid because you are with me." She died in the early morning
