How to Battle
Basics of Battling:
You may either battle in AIM chat rooms (recommended) or the forum. Battling in text based. Everyone takes turns. You will need one judge and at least two pilots to start a battle.
Once all have made their way to the chat room info is needed. The judge will ask for the pilots name, their team (or if their merc/free agent), their Zoid, and any modifications they plan to use. Then the terrian and battle mode will be decided by the pilots. Once the judge have figured out who goes first the battle begins.
Order of Turns: Pilot 1 - Pilot 2 - Judge - Pilot 2 - Pilot 1 - Judge - Pilot 1 - etc..
The pilots switch after every judgement to let them play offensive and defensive. This will go on until the judge says the Battle is over and announces a winner or when one of the pilots forfeit/gets DQed/withdraws (and so on).
The loser of the battle will receive no money and some experience points (the judge will decide). The winner recieves $3,000 and expericence points (the judge will decide). If its a tie, both pilots receive $1,500 and experience points.
More then Two pilots battling: This arrangement could be a number for possiblities. Team battles would be one, as would one vs. one. vs one. And so on. This battles are fought pretty much the same as the normal one vs. one battles expect you have more people.
First of all, the judge will get all the usually data needed for the battle. Then the judge will tell everything the order of turns. All Pilots will post their moves then the judge will post his judgement allow with a new order.
Learning the Moves:
A good way to start off is by, one, learning to battle correctly by typing your attacks the right way. Some people believe its just the techniques that count when battling online. However, they are wrong! Without good, clear attacks your techinique is useless. So lets move on..
Make sure you separate your talking and attacks. You can use ** or :: :: or any other symbols to suggestion that you are attacking, not talking.
Stay away from simple sentences, get some detail into your attacks. Example:
Pilot 1: *runs and fires*
Pilot 2: *runs to the left of the other Zoid, aims at the left shoulder, and fires with it 50mm cannons.*
With Pilot 1's attack, it sounds like you are running into the distance and firing at nothingness. Pilot 2's attack gets down into detail pin-pointing what the pilot wants done in the attack.
Stay away from saying that 'you' are the one firing (talking in first person). Example:
Pilot 1: *I fire my 50mm cannons at the other zoid.*
Pilot 2: *Command Wold fires its 50mm cannons at the other Zoid.*
Which Sounds better to you? Better have said Pilot 2's attack because that is the right answer. Couple reasons why we say not to talk in first person: 1) It sounds weird. 2) you aren't the ones with the weapons, your Zoid is. 3) It draws attention away from your Zoid making it seem like it doesn't exist out on the battlefield.
Remember to study your Zoid to make sure you know its strong points as well as its weak points. Judge how you're Zoid will fair off against the oppenents Zoid.
With all that said and done, Good luck in battling! ^^
