Talabani On Peace Process

The General Secretary of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Jalal Talabani stressed his
determination to continue the "peace campaign" and to strive to remove all the obstacles in
the way of a comprehensive implementation of the Washington Peace Agreement, in order to
reunify Kurdistan region under one administration and an elected parliament. In a
Commencement speech given to the class of 2001 students at Sulaimani University
graduation ceremonies, July 5, Mr. Talabani called upon all the graduates and staff to exert
every effort to reconstruct Kurdistan and develop it to achieve a free, democratic and a civic
society. He urged them to participate in the in the task of achieving progress and prosperity
through comprehensive peace. He lauded the healthy spirit of cooperation among the three
universities in Kurdistan, Sulaimani, Hawler(Arbil) and Dihok, and praised the role of
Sulaimani University in efforts to develop Kurdistan. He declared, through Prime Minister,
Dr. Barham! Salih, KRG's readiness to assist all the graduates to find suitable public
and private employment.
