Talabani : Promotion of Good Models of Governance

In a meeting with the party activists of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Third Branch in
Koya on July 8, Kurdish leader Jalal Talabani affirmed that the PUK will work to promote a
better model of governance and that this should become the mode of competition with rivals
and to engage only in the "competition of models" in all fields. The continuation of the
struggle will be based on the opportunity to choose the best and most suitable model to
follow, which is the only path for success in public life. Mr. Talabani pointed out that the
second party congress had reaffirmed the party constitution and the principle of constructive
self-criticism within the ranks of all PUK constituencies. He referred to the policy of
reforming and developing the party internally and explained that the purpose of subjecting
some party activists to internal discipline was to reform them and expected that they will
resume their responsibilities in the near future.
