Displaced Families Return

The fourth phase of the return of the internally displaced families will start on August 18,
2001 with the return of two hundred and sixty families to their original homes. This forward
step in building confidence in the peace process was agreed in a meeting in Hawler ( Arbil)
by the delegations of the two major Kurdistan political parties, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan-
headed by Azad Jundiani-, and Democratic Party of Kurdistan - headed by Faraydoon
Jowanroyi. Fifty dwellings have already been evacuated and prepared to receive their
owners.
