August 15 excitement everywhere

Hundreds of people consisting mainly women and youth made actions in
Adana, Istanbul,
Izmir and Van greeting the anniversary of August 15 Drive.

Anniversary of August 15, 1984, the date on which PKK (Kurdistan Workers'
Party) began
armed action is celebrated by demonstrations with hundreds of people.
About 500 young
people closed Namik Kemal Street to traffic. The youth chanted slogans
for PKK President
Abdullah Ocalan and PKK. While marching for a while they cried slogans
"Long Live
August 15 Drive" and Ambassador of Peace is in Imrali".
In Adana a group of youth calling themselves "Serhildan-(Popular Uprising)
Youth
celebrated the anniversary by lighting fires in Denizli, Ova Quarter
and Ismetpasa Avenue.
They chanted slogans "Biji Serok Apo-Long Live President APO", "Biji
PKK", "PKK is the
People, the People is Here", "Ambassador of Peace is in Imrali" and
"We Are Ready Both
For the War and Peace". In Denizli Quarter police forces intervened
them, blockading the
exits of the quarter. On the other hand in Barbaros Quarter a group
of women and children,
calling themselves "Adana Popular Serhildan Initiative", greeted PJA
(Free Women's Party)
and cried slogans "We Are Not Terrorists, We Are the PKK", "Long Live
Free Women's
Movement"
Another action was in Izmir. Youth gathered in Devrim Quarter and shouted
slogans, then
broke out without a sad incident.
Young people in Xacort quarter of Van province observed August 15 in
two different places.
People participated in the celebration too. They shouted slogans for
PKK President Abdullah
Ocalan and PKK.
