Britain Expresses The Need For Political Security In Kurdistan

In a meeting between Clare Short, MP and Secretary of State for International Development
and Dindar Zerbari, the Secretary Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government
(KRG-Arbil) in London, the British official said Iraqi Kurdistan needs political security to
stop outflow of people to Europe.

The KRG official informed Clare Short that KRG is against forced deportation of Kurdish
refugees in Europe to Kurdistan.  He added that the Kurdish leadership is of the view that
mass migration of the Kurds abroad will cease only if a lasting political solution for the
Kurdish people is established.

At the same meeting, Clare Short expressed her satisfaction with the developments that have
taken place in Kurdistan in the last few years.
