A KDP Post Comes Under Fire

A group of armed men believed to be belonging to two extremist factions called "The Unity
Movement"and "The Red Flame" attacked a KDP post early this week near the Iranian
border. The Unity Movement is an Islamic group operating in Iraqi Kurdistan believed to be
behind assassination of Franso Hariri last February. Mr. Hariri was a senior member of the
KDP leadership.

Sources indicated that the KDP forces opened fire on the attacking force killing an
unspecified number of them. There were no casualties among the KDP Peshmergas
defending the post
