Kurds plan protest over shopkeeper's death

Kurdish community leaders are planning a demonstration to protest about the 'suspicious'
death of a 42-year-old shopkeeper.

Police were called in after reports that a man had been stabbed in an attack in Finsbury Park,
north London, at 3.40pm on Saturday.

Officers at the scene found a man, thought to be Kurdish shopkeeper Hasan Arslan, who
appeared to have been the victim of a serious assault.

Police, who have not formally identified the man, say he was taken by ambulance to
hospital, but later died.

Detectives say they're keeping an open mind as to a motive for the alleged attack, but it is
not thought Mr Arslan was the victim of racial violence.

Community leaders are planning to meet near the scene of the alleged attack in Green Lanes,
Finsbury Park, at 11.30am on Monday.

Police say three men, aged 28, 33 and 34, along with a 27-year-old woman, have been
arrested and are currently being held in custody.

A police spokesman says the results of post-mortem tests are awaited.
