About 1964 (from the left) Joe Davis, Laddie Hutcherson and Louis formed a group. After 6 months of rehesrals in Louis living room, they soon became hottest group in Memphis, packing teen clubs like the Roaring 60's. Elvis Presley liked their music so much he called his friend in L.A. who owned the Red Velvet Lounge on the Sunset Strip and arranged a gig for them on his word alone. They were Elvis favorite group, he often tucked himself away in a dark corner to hear them play. They were the first group to be signed by the cartoon company Hanna Barbera who was trying to branch out into the recording world. They are the only rock and roll group to appear on national television with Yogi Bear on their drumhead to do their hit single, I DON'T BELIEVE.

After Louis quit the Guilloteens in 1965 because of money problems with their manager, Louis, Dean Hill and Mike Provow formed a new band. Their manager owned the Westwood Skating Rink in Memphis. They had the whole rink to themselves after it closed to practice in.
They would practice about a hour and skate for 3. They would throw chairs or anything to trip over in each others path. Their favorite word was "CHAIR !!!".

The Skating Rink Blues Band did a gig at the Mid South Coliseum billed as the Guilloteens. Louis did "I Don't Believe" and "For My Own". Mike and Dean still laugh about being the unknown Guilloteens.

Between 1967 and 1973 Louis lived in California and did studio recording with 3 DOG NIGHT. He and Danny Hutton became friends when he was recording with the Guilloteens. Danny was a back up singer on the recording of I DON'T BELIEVE. Louis had rehearsed with Danny to record with 3 Dog Night. When the record deal finally came through, Danny wasn't able to locate Louis in time and he was replaced.
