I LIKE ROCK AND ROLL / HE WHISTLES GOOD (WITH A BROKEN TOOTH)
191 -  SON label Hot Water Productions
Recorded on the SON label, produced by Jerry Phillips (SON of Sam Phillips) for Hot Water Productions in 1972.  This is the cut, I LIKE ROCK & ROLL, that caught Al Bell's attention and signed Louis with Stax.  The name Elmo is Louis middle name.  He used it because he recorded the song more as a joke.  He thought it sounded to much like Elvis and he didn't want people to think he was trying to imitate him.

The title of the flip side came when he accidently knocked out his 2 front teeth with a lighter.  After an emergency trip to the dentist he could only cut an instrumental.
IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME (AND WE'ER ALL ALONE) /  SANTA CLAUS IS ON HIS WAY AGAIN
ENA - 9060 Enterprise label Stax Recording Studio
Released November, 1972.  Produced by Jerry Phillips, for Hot Water Productions, on Enterprise Records, a division of Stax Records, Inc.  This was the first record released after Louis signed with Stax.  This record was also cut at Sam Phillips Studio.  Louis wrote, arranged, played all the instruments and did all the vocals on this one too, the same way he cut his album.  The B side of the Holiday song is an instrumental.
