Late For The Wedding by Amanda Quick (aka Jane Ann Krentz)
This book is the newest entry in Amanda Quick's romantic suspense series featuring Lavinia Lake and Tobias March. I love this new "romantic suspense series" thing that publishers have begun. I also really dig JD Robb's series, and for me this is a great regency version. Tobias & Lavinia are the stars of each book, encountering new mysteries, but we also get to see their relationship evolve through the series. The secondary characters are also regulars, carrying their own stories. I really like Lavinia's strong character, a trait Jane Ann Krentz does well. I'd recommend reading the series in order, starting with "Slightly Shady", and the 2nd book: "Don't Look Back".- Teresa 6-03

The Last Man In Town by Susan Kay Law
As the title states Lucas Garrett is the last man in Maple Falls, well at least the last able-bodied man. And Priscilla Wentworth is the girl he's known his entire life. When Lucas proposes a bargain to Priscilla, one where she can't possibly lose and has everything to gain she readily agrees. Lucas and Priscilla are both strong characters. And the secondary characters add some interesting dimensions to the storyline. I really liked this book because it is set in a small town in Minnesota. Being from a small town myself, I know that the mid-1800's small town dynamic can still be found in any small town in Minnesota today. Kristin - 6-03

Lonely Hearts, Stray Hearts, & Julia & Romeo by Annie Kimberlin
Love in the Stacks, Minneapolis Public Library's Romance Bookclub was named after the book, "Readers' Advisory: A Librarians Guide to Love in the Stacks" by Ann Bouricius. But I recently found out that Librarian Ann is also Romance Novelist Annie Kimberlin. I really liked the Readers' Advisory (I work in a library), so I decided to see if her romances were any good. Then I realized that I had already read 2 of her 4 books, and have recommended them to numerous folks, and I'll recommend them again to you. Her stories are connected via a small town vet clinic, so if you hate pet stories, then dodge this bullet. I'm pretty neutral on them, but the characters are so believable, its almost bizarre. Now, I'm not talking total day-to-day boring, but real. I'd totally recommend Julia & Romeo to any librarian who thinks romances are lame: the heroine is a librarian! - Teresa 6-03
