ALCOHOLICS VICTORIOUS
Founded by Dr. William Seath in February 1948, Alcoholics Victorious is an international Fellowship of alcoholics and drug addicts, with hundreds of participating chapters throughout the world. Hendersonville Rescue Mission has used this 12 - step recovery program since 1996, and it has been very successful in helping the men become productive members of society. We have need to expand this program to provide more space for the men and to add women to the recovery program.

FEEDING PROGRAM
Since 1981, Hendersonville Rescue Mission has fed the hungry, homeless and addicted of Henderson and surrounding counties. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner free of charge to all who come. In the seventeen years of serving the community, we have provided over 440,660 meals.

SHELTER PROGRAM
Hendersonville Rescue Mission shelter program operates on a first come;  first served basis. We have a men's dormitory and a women's dormitory. Since 1981 we have housed more than 7,700 men, women and children at our facility. Although the length of stay may vary with the person's needs, the average stay is 8.7 nights. Our hope is to counsel each guest and to help them deal with the problems that made them homeless. Through proper counseling and recovery, we hope these individuals will become positive, productive members of society.

WOMEN'S OUTREACH
We have seen a great increase in the number of women and children that have sought help at our mission. Many of the women do not have the proper skills needed in parenting, so Hendersonville Rescue Mission now provides Parenting Classes three times each week. The mission has a great need for more room in our women's dormitory. This area is full ninety percent of the time with people being turned away.

HISPANIC OUTREACH
The Mission serves a large number of Hispanics. They are our largest minority group, and we see the numbers increasing. We have a Spanish-speaking staff member who is able to work closely with them, and two Hispanic Pastors and their churches who provide assistance. We work together with other agencies to better meet all of their needs.
