Joshua Tree, California

In the Spring of 1999 I drove down to Joshua Tree with a friend of mine, Adriana, for a quick one week trip.  It was my first trip to California but it will probably now be an annual pilgrimage from the cold and wet climate of British Columbia in March.  Most of the climbs I did were moderates but I had a great time for such a short trip.  I've definitely got a tick list for this year's trip (2000) and will have more pictures to post when I return in April...yep, they're up now!  Update: 2002 trip pictures have now been posted as well!

We had the best camp site in Hidden Valley that Ken reserved for us...

The real residents like their space and we give it to them: I had a moderate telephoto lens on to capture this shot of a Big Horn Sheep

One of my first climbs at J-tree: The Bong, 5.4

A typical formation, Intersection Rock was my favorite formation on this trip.  I climbed Beginner's Three, 5.3; Mike's Books, 5.6, 2p and Overhang Bypass, 5.7, 2p on Intersection and enjoyed them all...click the thumbnail for news on my Y2K trip or an icon below to follow a link...
