Joshua Tree 2000

Returned in March of 2000 for my second trip down to J-tree and ended up getting on a few more exciting climbs than last year.  The highlight of this trip had to be leading Hobbit Roof, 5.10d that I had seen in a few pictures and really wanted to climb.  Double Dip, 5.6; Stitcher Quits, 5.7; Pope's Crack, 5.9; Out on a Limb, 5.10c; Cryptic, 5.8 and Tom Bombadil, 5.7 were also memorable climbs from this trip.  We had to leave J-tree a bit early due to 90+mph winds blowing in for a few days but all was not lost as we headed up to Yosemite to check it out!

Adriana couldn't make it this year but Sam, Gus, Kirsty (photo) and Ken all made it down from Salt Spring for a break from the winter time blues

The moon was full during our visit which meant that headlamps weren't necessary most nights.  The Headstone formation can just be seen in the shadows in this photo taken right at sunset.
