The Bluffs: CANKERS
Crag
Ken on the 2nd pitch of BIO at sunset This
beautiful 200'+ crag is located just below Fussy Parts. We began
exploring this crag quite a few years ago initially lowering down on
TR and climbing back up with a top belay. In October of 2000 we
bolted the top pitch of a line that we felt would be 5.9 or so and
later in the month Sam, Gus & myself climbed the FA of the
pitch. There is room for at least one more multi-pitch on this
crag that will probably clock in at about 5.10a/b

So,
August 2001 and we finally got the bolts in on the first pitch of what
is now known as B.I.O. (Buns in the Ovens), a two pitch 5.10a. FA
goes to myself & Paul Campbell from Vancouver. The shot
above left is of me getting started on the first pitch dihedral
section. Above right, just getting ready for the .10a crux
section: a sketchy traverse move...

pitch crux section that leads out left from the hueco and around the
arete to easier ground and the finish...Peter (right) maximizing the
exposure negotiating the arete
