NOTHING'S
SHOCKING, 5.9

We've been
climbing Nothing's Shocking for a few years but just got around to
bolting it in September of 2000. Ken was kind enough to give me
a belay so that I could try the three new bolts that protect this
short but fun 5.9 (left & centre). He jumped on the climb
(right) while Kjell belayed & I snapped a few shots...
SHOCK
TREATMENT, 5.10A/B

Shock Treatment,
5.10a/b, weaves a cunning line past four bolts through a maze of jugs
that appear at just the right time. Be ready for a fair bit of
traversing back and forth.

The Nothing's
Shocking crag is typical of Salt Spring Bluffs climbing: short,
entertaining climbs in a pristine setting. This photo is of Sam
Ellison, the first ascentionist, pulling the crux of Shock Treatment
with the usual appreciative crowd relaxing on the bluffs.
