Salt Spring Island,
B.C.

Bayne'ss Peak in
Mt. Maxwell Provincial Park is the centre piece of climbing on the
island: sport & trad climbing on the main peak and the Bluffs plus a
new bouldering/sport area in the new BC Parks acquisition above Burgoyne
Bay in pristine old growth forest...
My home turf
for climbing adventures...located just North of the San Juan Islands of
Washington State, Salt Spring Island is one of the most popular of the
Canadian Gulf Islands. My friends and I all plan our adventures in
the local neighborhood pub, Moby's, and hone our climbing skills at our
local indoor wall and on the turbidite (worse than conglomerate) of
Bayne's Peak in Mt. Maxwell Provincial Park. The summit of Bayne's
is about 600m above sea level and is the first thing you notice when coming in on the Fulford ferry. Click an image below
