Masonic
Recognition
This Grand Lodge maintains fraternal relations
with the other 45 Prince Hall Grand Lodges as recognized
by the
Prince Hall Conference of Grand Masters
in addition
to having
established fraternal relations
with
the following Grand Lodges:
Bases for Recognition
The following principles are the bases upon which Masonic
recognition is established and maintained by this Grand Lodge :
-
adherence to the Landmarks of Freemasonry
-
membership is limited to men, of good report
-
that the Volume of the Sacred Law must be used in Obligations and be open in view at
meetings (exception where a candidate
requires the Sacred Volume of his own religion)
-
belief in God
-
religion and politics are not permitted to be discussed
at meetings
-
regularity of origin
-
that the Grand Lodge shall be a sovereign and independent body
with exclusive control over the Craft degrees and Lodges within
its jurisdiction
Grand Lodges which cannot show adherence to the above principles are
not regarded or recognised as Freemasons by this Grand Lodge. They
cannot be visited by, or visit with recognised Freemasons.
Each Grand Lodge is an independent and autonomous body. The
establishment of fraternal relations between Grand Lodges serves to
promote universal brotherhood, facilitates visits between Freemasons
of different jurisdictions establishing such relationships,
and enables each Grand Lodge to be aware of events in each other
jurisdiction.
Recognition is considered on request from the other Grand Lodge.
Fraternal relations are established, after the requirements for
recognition have been satisfied.Grand Representatives are exchanged by
mutual agreement.
