My greatgrandfather, Alexander Sewell, first settled on this secluded elbow of the Jacques-Cartier River in 1873 with just a small barn and a few cows.
Still operated as a family farm in partnership with my sister Barbara, the Riviere Chaude Farm has grown considerably over the generations .
Today the farm has expanded to a 150-head purebred Holstein dairy operation with some 500 acres of farmland within a three-mile distance of the farm homestead.
