The Palo Alto Kendo Dojo has been practicing the art of Kendo, Japanese fencing, in Palo Alto, California, since 1987. We are affiliated regionally with the Northern California Kendo Federation and nationally with the All United States Kendo Federation.

Our members range in age from 7 to 60+ and represent a wide array of types: students (elementary to graduate school), technicians, engineers, musicians, people with strange senses of humor, mothers, writers, grandfathers, doctors (PhDs and medical), lawyers, accountants, and even a rocket scientist. Membership in the PAKD is open to anyone interested in learning kendo or improving their kendo abilities. All skill levels are welcome.

North American Women’s Taikai

Open to women age 16 years and older. There will be special women-only practices up in the Seattle area in the week prior to the taikai. There will also be local NCKF practices for women over the next few months.

Cupertino Sakura Matsuri/San Jose Nikkei Matsuri Fundraisers

The NCKF will be making and selling tempura at these two festivals as a fundraiser. We need everyone to volunteer for shifts to help set up, cook, sell, and clean up. Please contact Kawamura-sensei.

Cupertino Sakura Matsuri Demonstration
