Welcome to my web site. As you will see, my interests primarily lie in auto racing, however no doubt every American has changed since 9/11/2001. My site I re-dedicate to the children who have lost a parent, or both. Of all the victims of this senseless act, no doubt the children bring the most tears to my heart.

Foolish Rat's Personal Background : Over the years I have been asked how I got my name. As a member of the Florida Region Swamp Rats of SCCA from 1982 - 1989, one had to work 75% of the regions events for any particular season. Once this was accomplished race officials in any speciality could join that illustrious group and pick your Rat Name. Our infamous Mother Rat is the controlling point of names, and overall Rat items. I figured for a human being to be out in the elements, put up with all the crap  :-) we do, one had to be foolish. Thus, the real, unglamorous story. I raced Formula Vees in SCCA for the better part of 20 years, starting in California and finishing while living in North Carolina. Most recently, and currently I serve as the Flagging and Communications Chief for the North Carolina Region in SCCA. I have worked flagging, communications and emergency response 19 years of my 26 total in the club. The flag waving Rat provides a Hot Link to the NCR SCCA web site which contains all the relevant information you need about our club and the NCR region of SCCA. The NCR Region of SCCA has a Worker Incentive Program which you can learn more about and access by the link highlighted in this sentence or in the next section. Our region  is very fortunate to have as our home track Virginia International Raceway. Racing and working in SCCA over what is now almost a quarter century for me has been a great source of trusted friendships, both as a driver and worker. Anyone who is interested feel free to email me , I can get you started in a great racing experience whether you drive, desire to be trackside right where all the action is, or possibly work another specialty SCCA has to offer. If you like auto racing, you will not regret the chance to become an official within SCCA.

New Attraction and Next Event For VIR

The 2007 racing season at VIR will not begin as has the prior 7 seasons. Due to late schedule adjustments made by VIR, the March Memories has been moved to The Rock and a weekend sooner. This adjustment is rather unfortunate however the region has handled it with their consistent professionalism and management at The Rock has also been a pleasure to work with. So everyone plan a return to The Rock and our first SCCA weekend at VIR will be the Al Fairer SARRC/MARRS in May.

So come on out and support the NCR SCCA and our future growth as a region. Be a part of these weekends.
