DIRECTIONS TO YMCAs
and AQUATICS CENTERS USED BY THE SEOWV CLUSTER
Note: Since I am writing most of
these directions from what I have gathered for myself, some of them will be
from the Cambridge area. I have tried to modify them for everyone, but in some cases I
couldn't.
Cambridge YMCA - 703 N. 7th St., Cambridge, Ohio
From West:
I-70 to Exit 178, turn left onto Southgate Parkway (Rt. 209). Go approximately 2 miles
to the Courthouse, tun left, then immediate right. At
traffic light, turn left onto Steubenville Ave. At 2nd traffic
light, turn right onto N. 6th St. Stay on N. 6th St. for 5-6 blocks. YMCA is on the
right at the top of the hill. YMCA parking lot is on the left.
From East:
I-70 to Exit 178, turn right onto Southgate Parkway (Rt. 209). Follow directions above.
From South:
I-77 to I-70 West. Follow directions above.
From North:
I-77 to Exit 46B. Turn right onto E. Wheeling Ave. Stay on E. Wheeling Ave. for app. 2 miles. Turn right onto N. 6th St. (2 blocks past Courthouse). YMCA is
on the right at the top of the hill. YMCA parking lot is on the left.
Columbus North YMCA - 1640 Sandalwood Place, Columbus, Ohio
Interstate 70 to Interstate 71 North. Take the Morse Road exit, east. Go through about 5 or 6
traffic lights to Karl Road. Turn left onto Karl Road. YMCA is on the corner of Karl Road
& Sandalwood Place.
Columbus Hilltop YMCA/Southwest Community Center - 3500 First Ave, Urbancrest, Ohio
Interstate 70 West to Interstate 270 South. Stay on 270 South
for 14 miles. Take Exit 2 "US-62/OH-3 to Grove City". Turn left on US-62, OH-3. Go
1/2 mile to 1st Ave. Turn right on 1st Ave. and go approximately 1/3 mile to Southwest Community Center.
Marietta YMCA - 300 N. 7th St., Marietta, Ohio
From North:
Interstate 77 South to Exit #1. Turn right (Pike St.). At the 4th traffic
light (7th St.) turn right. YMCA is located on the
right after the 2nd traffic light.
From South:
Interstate 77 North to Exit #1. Turn right (Pike St.). At 5th traffic light
(7th St.) turn right. YMCA is located on the
right after the 2nd traffic light.
From West:
Interstate 70 East to Interstate 77 South. Follow directions for North.
From East:
Interstate 70 West to Interstate 77 South. Follow directions for North.
From
Southwest: Follow Route 7 to Marietta. Go through town to 7th St. Turn left. Y is located on right
after 2nd traffic light.
Wheeling YMCA/Linsly
School - Wheeling, West Virginia
From
Interstate 70: Take Oglebay Park Exit. You are on US Rt. 40. At the
light off the ramp, bear right toward Oglebay Park. Go about 1/2 mile. On your right
will be a Wilson Auto Glass. This is on Leatherwood Lane. Take a right on Leatherwood Lane. The entrance lane will be on your
left. Go up the hill-you will be in the parking lot of the Linsly School. The pool is down the steps by the
brick courtyard.
Lancaster YMCA - 465 W. 6th Ave., Lancaster, Ohio
Interstate 70 to Lancaster Exit. Turn towards Lancaster (left if coming from the east).
Stay on this road for approximately 17 miles, which will bring you into Lancaster. Turn right onto Fair St. Stay on Fair St. until you get to Rt. 33 (this will
be a 4 lane road with a lot of stores & restaurants). Turn left onto Rt.
33. Stay on Rt. 33 until you get to W. 6th Ave. (less than a mile). Turn right onto
W.
6th Ave. The Y is on the right.
Pickaway Co. YMCA - 440 Nicholas Drive, Circleville, Ohio
From the
North: Take I-270 (around Columbus) to 23 S to 22 E to Nicholas Drive. Turn left onto Nicholas Drive. YMCA is on the left. Another Way:
Take 674 to 188. Turn right onto 188 to Nicholas Dr. Turn left onto Nicholas
Dr. YMCA is on the left.
From the
South: 23 N to 22 E to Nicholas Drive. YMCA is on the right.
From the
East: 22 W to Nicholas Dri. Turn right onto Nicholas
Dr. YMCA is on the right.
From the
West: Coming 56 E to 22 E to Nicholas Dr. Turn left onto Nicholas Drive. YMCA is on the right.
Kenyon College (Ernst Center) - Gambier, Ohio
From the Cambridge area: Interstate 70 north to Newcomerstown exit. Turn left off exit onto Rt. 36
heading towards Coshocton. Stay on 36 for app. 18 miles. Shortly before getting
into Coshocton, Rt. 36 turns right, heading towards Warsaw / Mt. Vernon. Turn right, staying on Rt. 36 for
approximately another 18 miles. Watch for road sign for Rt. 229 (be careful,
it's not very big). Turn left onto Rt. 229. Stay on Rt. 229 for approximately
11-13 miles until you come to a sign that says "Kenyon College Athletic
Facilities". Turn right, pool (Ernst Center) will be on the left.
Ohio University (Aquatics Center) - Athens, Ohio
Interstate
77 South to Exit 6 "Lower Salem / Marietta & OH-821
South". Turn right off exit, following the sign to "OH 7 S". Go
a couple of miles to the "T" intersection at the end of OH 821, where
there is a traffic light. At the traffic light, turn left onto OH 60 South and
drive another couple of miles through Marietta, through several traffic lights.
Turn right (at a traffic light immediately following the sign for
"Junction OH-7"), onto OH 7 South and drive along the Ohio River to Belpre. You are on US 50 West,
in Belpre, you have about 40-45 minutes left to go.
Stay on US 50W all the way to Athens. US 50
& OH 7 will split about a mile from a sign for "Downtown
Coolville". After US 33 East joins US 50 West, in Athens, take the exit for OH-682 North.
Turn right at 1st traffic light onto Richland Ave which crosses the Hocking River. At the next traffic light , turn right onto South Green Drive. Go past the OU Stadium (on your
right) and the Aquatic Center is the next building on the left.
