About Our Family
We live in the capital city of the sunshine state of Florida, Tallahassee (native American Indian word for old city) in the United States of America. We are involved with the Tallahassee community at large. Specifically we participate in the educational and cultural activities of the Asian, Indian, and Tamil communities in the city and the county. Somasundaram occassionally writes in Tallahassee Democrat and its sister publications Northeast Chronicle and Eastside Chronicle.

The Somasundarams
Thayumanasamy Somasundaram: Aka Soma, works as an Associate in Research in Florida State University. He is a structural biologist working in the area of x-ray crystallography, a special area of biophysics.. He is the General Secretary of the India Association of Tallahassee and the Director Communication for the Asian Coalition of Tallahassee.
Gnanabhanu Somasundaram: Aka Bhanu, I work at the Leon County Public Library. She is the current Vice President of the Library Staff Association.
VTS: He is the Vice President of his school's Student Government Association.

Our Roots
We are originally from Tamil Nadu (land of Tamil speaking people) in Southeastern Indian peninsula. We lived in Chennai (Madras), Thanjavur (Tanjore), Bangalore, Hyderabad in India and in Boston, MA, USA. We now live in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. We are active members of India Association of Tallahassee and Tallahassee Tamil Sangam and Asian Coalition of Tallahassee. Somasundaram is the Webmaster and General Secretary for IATLH. He is the Communications Director for the Asian Coalition of Tallahassee. Bhanu and he are one of the co-organizers of Tallahassee Tamil Sangam. He is the current PTO President of BHPS-PTO. Bhanu is the Vice President of Leon County Library Staff Association.
