God Bless America & Freedom

Welcome to my web site!
The purpose of this web site is to share, inform and entertain those
with an interest in the wonders of the night skies. The present
location of most of my imaging is currently in Charlottesville, Virginia,
home of Thomas Jefferson and the University of Virginia. This site has
moderate light pollution as I am within a mile of the
Charlottesville/Albemarle Airport and about 5 miles north of the city. It
does however give fairly good results with proper processing of the
images. By the spring of 2002, the construction of the new house and
observatory in Fluvanna, Virginia will begin. This site is on 10 acres and
currently very dark. Time will tell how long that will remain so.
If you are interested in keeping our night skies dark, visit the International
Darks Sky Association to learn how we can all help preserve this treasure!
I am a current member of the Charlottesville Astronomical Society which
meets the first Wednesday of each month at the McCormick-Lender
Observatory located in Charlottesville at the University of Virginia. The
observatory houses a Clark 26" refractor telescope of which several
members of our club, including myself, are able to operate. If you have an
interest in joining or just visiting, please come to one of our meetings
to learn more. Meetings are at 7 pm and usually have a speaker as well as
club business and upcoming events.
I hope you enjoy the content of this site and any suggestions or
comments are welcomed. This site will be forever changing
content so please return often. Thank you for visiting.
