This
60 gun is designed for those who like to hunt with the smaller 5/16
shaft size without compromising on effective range. With the enclosed
track and beefy gun stock, the spear shaft can be powered
up without loosing accuracy; Up to 460 pounds of band tension can
be utilized, providing an effective range of over 20 feet.
Top divers like Ron Mullins and Terry Maas make
use of this gun for many pelagic species, but its still small enough
to hunt in close quarters like Kelp beds.
The
Magnum Gun is basically a downsized version of the Tuna Gun, with a smaller
enclosed track to fit the 5/16 shaft. It uses the same rear-set
trigger mechanism, alloy muzzle and blank construction methods but without
the weighted side stocks which are not necessary with the lighter shaft.
This combination produces a very high shaft velocity, which many divers
prefer. The tapered stock is smaller at the front for low swing resistance
and is positively buoyant with a neutral to slightly nose heavy balance.
The line release is the standard side-catch lever used on all but the
Tuna Gun.
The
Magnum Gun can be ordered fully rigged with a choice of 65 or 68
by 5/16 shaft, 400 pound test Jinkai Monofilament or 500 pound test
stainless cable shooting line rig with tapered rubber break-away plug.
The line can be rigged to either a low drag slide ring or to the hole
in the forward cocking fin. Other options include standard or high tension,
(green), 9/16 power bands, (3 to 5 each) and4, low drag, Alexander
slip tip.
