Toledo Astronomical Association
Who Are We?
As Amateur Astronomers we enjoy learning about the latest astronomical research.  We enjoy observing and showing others great sights in the sky.  We also help folks learn how to observe the heavens.

We're located in the Toledo, Ohio area with an observatory at a dark site far from the city lights.  On clear moonless nights we get awsome views of clusters, nebulae and galaxies.
Star Party for Boy Scouts
We meet on the first Friday of each month at the University of Toledo in McMaster Hall.  Meetings start at 7:30PM.  The public is welcome to join us.  We usually have a lecturer or some related activity.
Our Equipment
Our observatory houses a 25" Newtonian f4 telescope on a Dob mount.  We now have an electric drive system installed.  (Check the picture above.)

The 12.5" Meade Newtonian Dob is often used for backyard star parties.

A 12" Equitorial Mounted Catadioptric observatory is under consideration.
We present a couple star parties each year.  Usually planned well in advance but occasionally on a moments notice.
