| The Australian Magazine - Dec. 18-19 1999 |
The above Australian Magazine dated December 18-19, 1999 featured on page 18 an article "Hall of Femme" by Staff writer Miriam Cosic who found her women of the millennium epic both an inspiring and exasperating exercise: "History has forgotten, trivialised and even misattributed to men the achievementsof so many courageous, brilliant women." Miriam Cosic writes Who are the women who have shaped the millennium? While any such list would be inconclusive by definition, the ultimate challenge is in balancing orthodox history with herstory. In her article "Hall of Femme", Miriam Cosic's story of the Millennnium Women has this to say, Few would disagree that women have had to work more than twice as hard as men to achieve their goals. Our list of 100 exceptional international women, along with 20 Australians, who have made a lasting impression on the world puts that struggle in perspective.
